Building Smart:
For Your Future and the Planets
Building a home is a significant investment, and more homeowners are turning to energy-efficient options to minimize environmental impact and reduce long-term costs. Enter the Passivhaus—a design standard focused on superior insulation, airtightness, and natural ventilation, all leading to drastically reduced energy use and year-round comfort.
A Passivhaus requires precision and a deep understanding of building science. This is where having a builder qualified in the system's intricacies becomes critical. Passivhaus isn't just about installing thicker walls or better windows; it's a well-thought-out science involving meticulous design, local climate knowledge, and budget considerations.
Peter Niven, a Passivhaus-certified builder, embodies the experience needed to guide homeowners on the Mornington Peninsula through this process. Peter's extensive background in sustainable building ensures that all factors—including budget, design, and unique local conditions—are all considered for a successful build.
Working with a skilled Passivhaus builder like Peter Niven means clients aren't just creating an energy-efficient home but also gaining peace of mind. From initial design to the final touches, our expertise delivers a comfortable, eco-friendly home that stands the test of time—and the local weather.
